Centering Prayer Updates (Plus an Invitation to a Free Zoom Gathering on 8/27)

Greetings friends,
Here are two quotations that I've been pondering this past week as part of my contemplative practices:
Julian of Norwich: "The love wherein He made us was in Him from without beginning: in which love we have our beginning. And all this shall we see in God without end."
Ignatius of Loyola: "We must pray as if all depended on Divine Action, but labor as if all depended on our own efforts."
1. Invitation to August's Virtual Centering Prayer Gathering (always free)
August 27 Noon–1:30 pm (eastern)
We will divide the time into three blocks: (1) after a brief welcome and prayer, Rich and I offer some reflections to help you in your centering prayer practice: in August we will focus on some of the fruits of centering prayer; (2) we practice a time of silence for 20 minutes as a group; and (3) we have a group conversation in which you can ask questions, share resources, or give a testimony.
It will be great to have you join the group. Please RSVP by emailing me: brian@brianrussellphd.com so that Rich and I can have an idea about the number of attendees. I'll send you the Zoom link.
2. Resources for Helping Your Grow in your Practice
If you have questions about centering prayer, send them my way and I’ll answer them via email or create a video that answer the question.
I'm continuing to build a small playlist on centering prayer on YouTube: Dr. Brian Russell’s Centering Prayer Playlist
Here are my favorite books (classic and modern) on Centering Prayer:
My Top Ten Favorite Centering Prayer resources
I’m also happy to join any groups using my book Centering Prayer for an hour of reflection, Q and A, and prayer time.
